                      LET ME START THIS SECTION WITH A SMALL BUT WITTY STORY ABOUT THE GREAT SCIENTIST SI ISAAC NEWTON.

HOWEVER, NEWTON CONTINUED TO REMAIN IN MEDITATION, PULLING UP A CHAIR AND WITHOUT DISTURBING NEWTON, THE FRIEND SILENTLY ATE THE DINNER. LATER, NEWTON CAME OUT OF HIS CONTEMPLATIVE STATE, LOOKED WITH SIME CONFUSION AT THE EMPTY DISHES AND SAID IF IT WEREN'T FOR THE PROOF BEFORE MY EYES, I COULD HAVE SWORN THAT I HAD NOT YET DINED.



MOST LUCKY PEOPLE HAVE UNERSTOOD THAT CALMING THE MIND IS A KEY METHOD TO INCREASE ALTERNESS, MANY YEARS AGO I VISITED IGATPURI TO ATTEND A VIPASSANA MEDITATION CAMP. GOENKA , THE FOUNDER OF THE MOVEMENT. IT WAS POSSIBLY THE ONLY HUMAN VOICE WE HEARD DURING OUR ENTIRE STAY. ONE OF HIS LECTURES WAS ABOUT TAMING A WILD ELEPHANT. 


THE METHOD USED TO TAME WILD ELEPHANT IN ANCIENT TIMES WAS TO TIE THE CAPTURED BEAST TO A FIRM POST WITH A STRONG ROPE. THE UNHAPPY ANIMAL WOULD SCREAM, STAMP AND THROW A FIT, USUALLY FOR SEVERAL DAYS. EVENTUALLY THE ELEPHANT WOULD REALIZE THAT IT COULD NOT ESCAPE. AT THIS POINT IT WOULD SETTLE DOWN. THE TRAINER COULD NOW BEGIN TO FEED AND HANDLE IT WITH SOME MEASURE OF SAFETY.
AFTER SOME TIME, THE TRAINER WOULD BE ABLE TO DISPENSE WITH THE ROPE AND POST ENTIRELY.
ACCORDING TO PROPONENTS OF VIPASSANA, THE HUMAN MIND IS LIKE A WILD ELEPHANT, MINDFULNESS IS THE ROPE. AND MEDITATION IS THE FIXED POST.
MEDITATION AND MINDFULLNESS CAN TAME THE MIND, MUCH LIKE THE POST AND ROPE CAN TAME THE BEAST.

I EVENTUALLY REACHED A STAGE WHERE I ACTIVELY SOUGHT OPPORTUNITIES TO SPEAK A STAGE ( AND HAD TO BE GENTLY REMINDED TO SHUT UP).




          SO WHAT IS THE SOLUTION TO ACQUIRING CONFIDENT?  ITS SIMPLE. CONQUER FEAR.

           OVERCOMING FEAR- OF ANY SORT- ALLOWS ONE TO OPEN UP TO THE FLOW OF OPPORTUNITIES. BERTRAND RUSSEL, THE BRITISH PHILOSOPHER AND MATHEMATICIAN, OBSERVED, 'TO CONQUER FEAR IS THE BEGINNING OF WISDOM'.

                    BUFFET SIGNED UP FOR A DALE CARNEGIE COURSE WITH MANY  LIKE WHO WERE SCARED OF GETTING UP AND SAYING OUR NAMES. FAST FORWARD TO THE ANNUAL MEETING OF BERKSHIRE HATHAWAY'S SHAREHOLDERS. EACH YEAR MORE THAN 35000 SHAREHOLDERS DESCEND UPON OMAHA. IT IS BUT OBVIOUS THAT BUFFET IS THE STAR ATTRACTION. BUFFET NOT ONLY SPEAKS, BUT MANAGES TO SING, DANCE AND POSE FOR PHOTOGRAPES!

         NONE OF US LIVES OR WORKS IN TOTAL ISOLATION. WE HAVE TO INTERACT WITH OTHER PEOPLE SOME OF THE TIME. EVEN IF YOU SET OUT TO BE A HERMIT, YOU WOULD INDOUBTEDLY FIND YOURSELF HAVING TO TELL OTHER PEOPLE TO GO AWAY WHEN THEY WANTED TO EXPLORE YOUR CAVE.

A LACK OF GOOD COMMUNICATION IS A MAJOR FACTOR IN DISTRESSED RELATIONSHIP, SUCH AS MARRIAGES AND PARENT-CHILD RELATIONSHIPS. WE BELIEVE THAT EFFECTIVE RELAXATION HAS DOING FOR US...

MEDITATION IS IMPROVED OUR SELF ESTEEM. ITS SUPPORT THE DEVELOPMENT OF BRAIN STRUCTURES. AND ITS SUPPORTING STUDENTS ABLE TO CONTROL THEIR 
ATTENTION. DOING MEDITATION HELP TO REDUCING STRESS. ITS MAY EVEN MAKE YOU HAPPIER, AND ITS REDUCES NEGATIVE EMOTIONS AND INCREASE POSITIVE ONES.
THERE IS GOOD EVIDENCE THAT MEDITATION CAN IMPROVE WORKING MEMORY. THERE IS HAVE POSITIVE IMPACT ON BRAIN STRUCTURES ASSOCIATED WITH LEARNING AND PROBLEM SOLVING .
