THE SPRING(HIMALAYA'S)

                                                           SPRING SEASON

              






              THE SNOW BEGAN MELTING FROM THE TOWERING MOUNTAIN SLOPES. WITH THE ADVENT OF SPRING, BIRDS ONCE AGAIN HOPPED THROUGH THE GREEN WOODS, SINGING THE GLORY OF THEIR CREATOR. PATCHES OF DRY GRASS GRADUALLY BEGAN TURNING GREEN WHILE THE MEADOWS PROVIDED A FESTIVE LOOK OF DANCING JOY AS TINY, EXQUITE FLOWERS SHOT FORTH EVERYWHERE. STREAMS ROARED DOWN ON THEIR GREAT MISSION TO SOOTHE THE BURNING THIRST OF THE MULTITUDE. GRAY SKY HAD TURNED TO CRYSTAL CLEAR BLUE. AND THE MORNING SUN, SHINING IN FULL GLORY, GLISTENED BRILLIANTLY THROUGH COUNTLESS DEW DROPS PERCHED UPON THE VERDANT GRASS.
                
                SATYAKAM WAS SILENCE INCARNATE. ONCE COULD CALL HIM A CONSCIOUS STONE OR SOLID SILENCE. HE SEEMED UNAWARE OF ANYTHING AROUND HIM, BUT WAS HE REALLY? NOW HE WAS ALL THE WHILE IN SILENT COMMUNICATION WITH HIS MASTER. NAY, AND HIS MASTER RESIDING IN HIM PERMANENTLY. HE AND HIS MASTER HAD BECOME ONE.
         
                   AFTER LEAVING HE CAVE. HE BEGAN CLIMBING HIMALAYA. IN THE PRIME OF SPRING, THE PLEASANT CLIMATE INVITED MORE VILLAGERS AND PASSERS-BY-TO CLIMB THE MOUNTAIN PATHS. OFTEN THEY GREETED SATYAKAM WITH AWE AND DEEP REVERENCE, BU SATYAKAM WAS SATYAKAM! HE LEFT THEM ALL BEHIND TO FINISH WHAT HE HAD BEGAN.

                    AFTER A DAY'S JOURNEY. HE REACHED A SPOT ABOUT TNE MILES FROM DARJEELING. THE PLACE WAS RUGGED AND UNINHABITED AND NO ONE EVER PASSED BY. FINDING A SMALL CAVE, HE SPREAD HIS BLANKET INSIDE AND CAME OUT.
                        
                    TO THE END STOOD MOUNT EVEREST AGAINST THE CLEAR BLUE SKY, MAJESTICALLY COVERED WITH PERENNIAL SNOW. ITS LOFTY HEAD PENETREATED THE HEAVENS, HALOED BY INEFFABLE PURITY AND GLORY. ITS CHALLENGING MESSAGE. COME YE WHO ARE HEAVY WITH BONDAGE AND FIND FREEDOM IN THE ABODE OF YOUR TRUE SELF, AND TO THIS, THE KANCHEJUNGA RANGES TO THE WEST PROVIDED SILENT AFFIRMATION AND INSPIRATION.


                    HERE, AMIDST ONE OF THE MOST RAPTUROUS LANDSCAPES OF MOTHER EARTH, SATYAKAM SETTLED FOR A FINAL ASSAULT.
                  
 
                  DAYS PASSED ON. HE NEVER LEFT HIS SEAT EVEN FOR A MOMENT. ONE RARE CLEAR NIGHT BROUGHT THE FULL MOON OUT, AS IF TO WITNESS AND UNSPEAKABLE SILENT GLORY. THE REST FO THE SKY WAS NOT BARREN. TWINKLING STARS DECORATED THE FIRMAMENT UP TO THE VISIBLE DEPTHS.


                  SATYAKAM SAT ON HIS SEAT LOOKING TOWARD SERENCE EVEREST. HIS EYES CLOSED. WAS HE MEDITIATING ? WAS HE ENTHRONED IN THE GREAT SILENCE? OR WAS HE WAITING? 

                     AS HE WAS SITTING WITH EYES CLOSED, A QUESTION, LIKE A BEAM OF LIGHT, PIERCED HIS SILENT SCREEN OF CONSCIOUSNESS, WHAT IS OBSTRUCTING ME STILL FROM FULL ENLIGHTENEMENT?

                       YOU, AROSE A SILENT ANSWER FROM WITHIN HIM.

                 ENLIGHTENMENT IS ABSOLUTE AND NOT OBJECTIVE. EITHER EGO OR ENLIGHTENMENT.
   
                ANOTHER QUESTION FROM WITHOUT HIM FOLLOWED, I HAVE ALWAYS BELIEVED IN GOD'S EXISTENCE BUT HAVE NEVER SEEN HIM! DOES GOD EXIST?
 
               YES, AND WITH THAT, THERE APPEARED IN HIS CONSCIOUSNESS THE FULL VISION FO  RADIANT FORM - MORE RADIANT THAN THOUSANDS OF SUNS. SATYAKAM BEHELD, IN NAKED GLORY, GOD'S UNIVERSAL FORM.

                  THE LAST QUESTION AROSE IN HIM, WHAT IS YOUR NAME? NARAYAN BUT MANY ARED MY NAMES. I APPEAR IN THE FORM IN WHICH YOU WORSHIP ME.

                 THEN THE FORM DISSAPEARED , AND SO DISAPPEARED WHAT WAS HITHERTO SATYAKAM, LIKE THE NIGHT WHICH TERMINTATES WITH THE RISE OF THE SUN. THE SEVENTH CHAKRA BECAME LUMINOUS. SATYAKAM PLUNGED INTO SAMADHI.

                  THE EPIC JOURNEY HAD ENDED. SATYAKAM BECAME SATYANANDA. HE SAT THERE IMMERSED OF THE UNIVERSE IN LIGHT AND BLISS. THE MYSTERIES AND POWERS OF THE UNIVERSE WERE SPONTANEOUSLY REVEALED TO HIM ONE BY ONE. HE WAS NO LONGER HAVING KNOWLEDGE, WHICH DOES  CHANGE, BUT WAS NO LONGER HAVING KNOWLEDGE, WHICH DOES CHANGE, BUT WAS PURE CONSCIOUSNESS, WHICH DOES CHANGE BUT WAS PURE CONSCIOUSNESS, WHICH DOES NOT CHANGE. GOD, SATYANANDA AND THE VAST UNIVERSE HAD BECOME ONE, AND THUS HE REALIZED THE IMMUTABILITY OF THE LAW OF ONE. SATYANANDA WAS ENLIGHTENED. THE INVISIBLE ANGELS APPEATED, TO BEHOLD THE VALIANT FIGHTER OF THE GREATEST VICTORY- THE VICTORY IN WHICH NO ONE ELSE KNOWS DEFEAT. THE ANGELS SHOWERED ETHEREAL FLOWERS OVER THIS CHILD OF THE VIRGIN SPIRIT  OF HIMALAYA. HE BATHED IN TRANSFORMING ECTASY.








                           HE REMAINED THERE, LOST IN SUPERCONSCIOUSNESS, FOR WHO KNOWS HOW MANY DAYS. AND THEN ONE DAY HE AROSE AND LOOKED ABOUT. HIS EYES WERE SHINING WITH DIVINE LUSTER, THE SAME AS HE HAD BEHELD LONG AGO IN THE TWO SWANS ON THE LAKE. A HALO OF LIGHT SURROUNDED HIS HEAD. HE LOOKED MAJESTIC IN HIS LORD' GLORY.

                         HE GLANCED AT EVEREST, THE MOUNTAIN SEEMED HUMBLE. STEP BY STEP, AS A KING OF KINGS, HE DESCENDED THE SLOPES UNTIL HE REACHED A TRAIL. IT HAD BEEN A LONG TIME SINCE HE HAD SEEN HUMAN FIGURES PASSING BY. NONE COULD RESIST THE PULL AND THEY SPONTANEOUSLY BOWED DOWN TO HIM. THEIR FACES ALSO SHONE FOR A WHILE AS THEY BEHELD SATYANANDA'S DIVINE GLOW. AWESTRUCK AND HUMBLED IN HIS PRESENCE, THEY DIDN'T KNOW WHO HE WAS NOR DID THEY DARE TO ASK.

HUMANITY

                                                        PRACTICE HUMANITY




                  CONFIDENCE WITHOUT HUMILITY IS ARROGANCE. HUMANITY IS THE FOUNDATION OF ALL VIRTUES. IT IS A SIGN OF GREATNESS. HUMANIT DOES NOT MEAN SELF-DEMEANING BEHAVIOR THAT WOULD AMOUNT TO BELITTLING ONESELF. BEHAVIOR THAT WOULD AMOUNT BUT FALSE HUMANITY DETRACTS.

                   MANY YEARS AGO, A RIDER CAME ACROSS SOME SOLDIERS WHO WERE TRYING TO MOVE A HEAVY LOG WITHOUT SUCCESS. THE CORPORAL WAS STANDING BY AS THE MEN STRUGGLED. THE RIDER ASKED THE CORPORAL WHY HE WASN'T HELPING. THE CORPORAL REPLIED, I AM THE CORPORAL, I GIVE ORDERS. THE RIDER DISMOUNTED WENT UP TO THE SOLDIERS AND HELPED THEM LIFE THE LOG. WITH HIS HELP, THE LOG GOT MOVED. THE RIDER QUIETLY MOUNTED HIS HORSE AND WENT TO THE CORPORAL AND SAID, THE NEXT TIME YOUR MEN NEED HELP, SEND FOR THE COMMANDER-IN-CHIEF, AFTER HE LEFT THE CORPORAL AND HIS MEN FOUND OUT THAT THE RIDER WAS GEORGE WASHINGTON.

                        THE MESSAGE IS CLEAR. SUCCESS AND HUMANITY GO HAND IN HAND. WHEN OTHERS BLOW YOUR HORN, THE SOUND GOES FURTHER. JUST THINK ABOUT IT? SIMPLICITY AND HUMANITY ARE TWO HALLMARKS OF GREATNESS.

                IN RELATIONSHIPS WE ALL MAKE MISTAKES AND SOMETIMES WE ARE INSENSITIVE TO THE NEEDS OF OTHERS, ESPECIALLY THOSE VERY CLOSE TO US. ALL THIS LEADS TO DISAPPOINTMENT AND RESENTMENT. THE ANSWER TO HANDLING DISAPPOINMENT IS UNDERSTANDING.

                RELATIONSHIPS DON'T COME ABOUT BECAUSE PEOPLE ARE PERFECT. THEY COME ABOUT BECAUSE OF UNDERSTANDING.

                THERE IS MORE GRATIFICATION IS BEING A CARING PERSON THAN IN JUST BEING A NICE PERSON. A CARING ATTITUDE BUILDS GOODWILL, WHICH IS THE BEST KIND OF INSUREANCE THAT A PERSON CAN HAVE AND IT DOESN'T COST A THING.

             SOME PEOPLE SUBSTITUTE MONEY FOR CARING AND UINDERSTANDING. BEING UNDERSTANDING IS FAR MORE IMPORTANT THAN MONEY AND THE BEST WAY TO BE UNDERSTOOD IS TO BE UNDERSTANDING. THE BASIS OF REAL COMMUNICATION IS TO UNDERSTAND.


                                                             PRACTICE GENEROSITY


                       GENEROSITY IS SIGN OF EMOTIONAL MATURITY.  BEING GENEROUS IS BEING THOUGHTFUL AND CONSIDERATE WITHOUT BEING ASKED. GENEROUS PEOPLE EXPERIENCE THE RICHNESS OF LIFE THAT A SELFISH PERSON CANNOT EVEN DREAM OF .

                  WHAT MAKES A PERSON SUCCESSFUL? HOW DO WE RECOGNIZE SUCCESS? TO SOME PEOPLE, SUCCESS MIGHT MEAN WEALTH. TO OTHERS, IT IS RECOGNITION, GOOD HEALTH, A GOOD FAMILY, HAPPINESS, SATISFACTION, AND PEACE OF MIND. WHAT THIS REALLY TELLS US IS THAT SUCCESS IS SUBJECTIVE. SUCCESS MEANS DIFFERENT THINGS TO DIFFERENT PEOPLE. THE DEFINITION THAT I FEEL BEST SUMMARIZES SUCCESSS IS.


             SUCCESS IS THE PROGRESSIVE REALIZATION OF A WORTHY GOAL.


                              LET'S LOOK AT THESE DEFINITIONS CAREFULLY.


            PROGRESSIVE MEANS THAT SUCCESS IS A JOURNEY, NOT A DESTINATION. WE NEVER ARRIVE. AFTER WE REACH ONE GOAL, WE GO ON TO THE NEXT AND THE NEXT AND SO ON.

             REALIZATION MEANS IT AN EXPERIENCE. OUTSIDE FORCES CANNOT MAKE ME FEEL SUCCESSFUL. I HAVE TO FEEL IT WITHIN MYSELF. IT IS INTERNAL NOT EXTERNAL. THAT IS WHY WHAT OFTEN APPEARS AS SUCCESS EXTERNALLY MAY BE TOTAL HOLLOWNESS WITHIN.

            WORTHLESSNESS REFERS TO OUR VALUE SYSTEM WITHOUT WHICH GOALS CAN BE UNWORTHY. WHICH WAY ARE WE HEADING ? TOWARDS POSITIVE OR NEGATIVE GOALS? WORTHINESS DETERMINES THE QUALITY OF THE JOURNEY. THAT IS WHAT GIVES MEANING AND FULFILLMENT. GOALS ARE IMPORTANT BECAUSE THEY GIVE US A SENSE OF DIRECTION.




                                SUCCESS WITHOUT FULFILLMENT IS EMPTY.



            I DON'T KNOW THE KEY TO SUCCESS, BUT THE KEY TO FAILURE IS TRYING                   TO PLEASE EVERYBODY.

             WHETHER IT IS YOUR THOUGHTS, ACTIONS OR BEHAVIOR, SOONER OR LATER THEY RETURN- AND WITH GREAT ACCURACY.

              TREAT PEOPLE WITH RESPECT ON YOUR WAY UP BECAUSE YOU WILL BE MEETING THEM ON YOUR WAY DOWN.

              THE FOLLOWING STORY IS TAKEN FROM THE BEST OF... BITS & PIECES.

              MANY YEARS AGO TWO BOYS WERE WORKING THEIR WAY THROUGH STANFORD UNIVERSITY. THEIR FUNDS GOT DESPERATELY LOW, AND THE IDEA CAME TO THEM TO ENGAGE IGNACY PADEREWSKI FOR A PIANO RECITAL. THEY WOULD USE THE FUNDS TO HELP PAY THEIR BOARD AND TUITION.

             THE GREAT PIANEST'S MANAGER ASKED FOR A GUARANTEE OF $2000. THE GUARANTEE WAS A LOT OF MONEY IN THOSE DAYS, BUT THE BOYS AGREED AND PROCEEDED TO PROMOTE THE CONCERT. THEY WORKED HARD, ONLY TO FIND THAT THEY HAD GROSSED ONLY $1600.

                    AFTER THE CONCERT THE TWO BOYS TOLD THE GREAT ARTIST THE BAD NEWS. THEY GAVE HIM THE ENTIRE $1600, ALONG WITH A PROMISSORY NOTE FOR $400, EXPLAINING THAT THEY WOULD EARN THE AMOUNT AT THE EARLIEST POSSIBLE MOMENT AND SEND THE MONEY TO HIM. IT LOOKED LIKE THE END OF THEIR COLLEGE CAREERS. 

                 NO BOYS, REPLIED PADEREWSKI, THAT WON'T DO. THEN, TEARING THE NOTE IN TWO, HE RETURNED THE MONEY TO THEM AS WELL, NOW, HE TOLD THEM. TAKE OUT OF THIS $1600 ALL OF YOUR EXPENSES AND KEEP FOR EACH OF YOU 10 PERCENT OF THE BALANCE FOR YOUR WORK. LET ME HAVE THE REST.

                 THE YEARS ROLLED BY. WORLD WAR I CAME AND WENT. PADEREWSKI, NOW PREMIER OF POLAND, WAS STRIVING TO FEED THOUSANDS OF STARVING PEOPLE IN HIS NATIVE LAND.                   THAT'S ALL RIGHT. MR.PEDEREWSKI, WAS HOOVER'S REPLY. BESIDES, YOU DON'T REMEMBER IT, BUT YOU HELPED ME ONCE WHEN I WAS A STUDENT AT COLLEGE, AND I WAS IN TROUBLE.


                  IT IS ONE OF THE MOST BEAUTIFUL COMPENSATIONS OF LIFE  THAT NO MAN CAN SINCERELY TRY TO HELP ANOTHER WITHOUT HELPING HIMSELF.

                UNPROFESSIONAL ORGANIZATIONS HAVE NO, OR VERY POOR, ORIENTATION PROGRAMS. THE FIRST DAY AT THE JOB, THE SUPERVISOR SHOWS THE NEW EMPLOYEE HIS PLACE OF WORK AND TELLS HIM WHAT TO DO THE LEAVES. HE TEACHES ALL THE BAD ALONGWITH THE GOOD THAT HE IS DOING. THE NEW EMPLOYEE QUICKLY LEARNS ALL THE MISTAKES THE SUPERVISOR IS MAKING BECAUSE THAT IS WHAT HE HAS BEEN TAUGHT. THE ORGANISATION LOSES THE OPPORTUNITY TO MOLD THE INDIVIDUAL TO ITS CULTURE.

                AFTER SOME TIME THE MOTIVATION LEVEL GOES DOWN AND THE EMPLOYEES STARTS LEARNING THE TRICKS OF THE TRADE. THIS IS THE STAGE WHEN THE EMPLOYEE IS NOT MOTIVATED. HE CONTINUES DOING JUST ENOUGH SO THAT THE EMPLOYER HAS NO REASON TO FIRE HIM BUT HE IS REALLY NOT MOTIVATED.

                 THIS STAGE IS DETRIMENTAL TO GROWTH-MOST PEOPLE IN ORGANIZATIONS FALL INTO THIS THIRD STAGE. A MOTIVATED PROFESSIONAL LEARNS THE TRADE AND LEAVES THE TRICKS TO CHEATS AND CROOKS, BUT A DEMOTIVATED EMPLOYEES STARTS SABOTAGING THE COMPANY. HIS PERFORMANCE IS MARGINAL. HE MAKES FUN OF THE GOOD PERFORMANCE IS MARGINAL. HE MAKES FUN OF THE GOOD PERFORMERS. HE REJECTS NEW IDEAS AND SPREADS THE NEGATIVITY ALL AROUND.

               OUR OBJECTIVES IS TO BRING THEM BACK TO THE SECOND STAGE OF MOTIVATED EFFECTIVE THROUGH TRAINING. AN EMPLOYEE OUGHT NOT TO SAY IN THE THIRD STAGE TOO LONG, BECAUSE FROM HERE EITHER MAY MOVE BACK TO THE SECOND STAGE, WHICH IS BEING MOTIVATED AND EFFECTIVE, OR THEY MOVE INTO THE FOURTH STAGE.

                    AT THIS STAGE, THE EMPLOYER DOES NOT HAVE MUCH CHOICE BUT TO FIRE THE EMPLOYEE, WHICH MAY BE THE MOST APPROPRIATE THING TO DO ANYWAY AT THIS POINT.

                 REMEMBER EMPLOYEES WANT THE SAME THING AS EMPLOYEES DO. THEY WANT TO SUCCEED AND IMPROVE BUSINESS, AND IF EMPLOYEES HELP IN THIS OBJECTIVE, THEN THEY MAKE THEMSELVES VALUABLE AND ACHIEVE THEIR WON SUCCESS.
